Pengkid by his definition would be a *deviant* cultural practice. By issuing a fatwa on a *culture*, he has mixed up pengkid as a deviant religious practice and not a culture as he pointed out.

Frankly the interviewer wasn’t alert enough – several times she could’ve hit him harder especially at the beginning of the interview and by directly quoting the fatwa itself to contradict him, and by being politely nonspecific, he has the leeway to do the same.

Still, great job reducing JAKIM’s sensibilities there!
