Working backwards from the point where I woke up:
A student is found- She is a candidate who is needed to do things – found in the office of a man who was trying to sell otaku pushup dolls and/or female butlering service – the man whom he was trying to sell things to was familiar and unfamiliar at the same time – I know him, but not like this.
Going backwards – the man and the CEO met when one of the dolls covered the man in cream during an accident on the Japanese train – this then gets the man an invitation to the company to clean up, which they do, and then the CEO tries to sell sex toys to the man. Going back, the man is going home from the beach after picking up his things.
He’s on his way home from the beach after ironing his clothes and answering some questions in a beachhouse. Before that, he was talking to me, my mother and another friend. We were debating the meaning of the word dollar bit. This is preceeded by heading out to the beach to reclaim a teddy bear that had been left in a fishing net after my family went fishing. We had to drive to reclaim the net, and I needed to wait some time before I could finally use the shower after trudging through the same to get my stuff.
The shower was full of relatives; literally full of male relatives from my mom’s side that I had never met but was sure I did not like because they were chauvinists and disrespectful. About 12 in the shower but I could only glimpse unclearly 8 and two were coming down after that before I showered.
Going back further, had spent the day at the beach because dad and bro were fishing. I can’t really remember what else before this beyond I know that I had been told to go. And that I woke up earlier to switch the comp off cause it was raining heavily.

First impressions:
Damn but I love the amount of extra space they gave us. It’s reminiscent of Google Chrome, but I like the fact that they went for a more square design rather than Chrome’s trapezium-shaped tabs. This looks much more official and serious.
That said, this is still the Beta after all, and the Firefox team is collecting data on how people use Firefox. There’s a button on the right hand side called Feedback, which has a compilation of user studies. The Mozilla team seems to be using this feature to collect data on what people are doing with their browsers. They’re doing this via the Test Pilot add-on, which comes pre-installed on Firefox 4 Beta 1. It’s a useful feature, but I’ve discovered that if you click on More Info and then click on Privacy Policy, FAQ or Guiding Principles, it leads to a 404 page not found. That’s not to say the content is missing. Apparently it’s dead links, cause if you go to the Test Pilot homepage, the relevant documents are there.
In the past 2 hours that I’ve used this new beta, I’ve already discovered something that I don’t like. While the overall look and feel is fantastic, I’m not happy with the fact that they hid the Menu bar by default. I’ve lost my Chatzilla function, which I used to click on Tools > Chatzilla. Now I need to unhide the Menu Bar, click on Tools > Chatzilla. It’s an additional step taken which I am not very fond of.
Still I like what they did with the add-ons menu. And it looks pretty on Windows 7. We’ll see how things go.
Edit: To access information about the User Studies, click on Feedback > All Your User Studies > Finished Studies. Select any of the More Info links and they’ll take you to a page with more information about that particular study. The dead links are found here, because they link to .html instead of .php so have reported it to Bugzilla. I hope someone fixes it soon!

While whining about the relatively expensive prices for e-book readers in Malaysia:
Me: why is it that things “supposed” to make our lives better are so expensive!
God: because then they don’t break as fast? :S
Me: I mean entertainment gadgets are cheap compared to productivity tools :S
God: entertainment needs to be cheap for the masses to be happy!
God: productivity however needs to be expensive so lazy people will innovate!
I have awesome friends. And yes the nickname of the person I was talking to IS God, and it’s an awesome she!

Choice quotes from Malaysiakini today:
Spokesperson for the group Fathul Bari Mat Jahaya said last night’s meeting with Umno Youth chief Khairy Jamaluddin was fruitful, where they decided to propose the concept of ‘Islam for All’ as the first step… “We wanted to portray that Islam is not only for Muslims or a certain race,” he said.
Um… isn’t Islam a religion? And therefore it *should* be for those who are Muslims alone?
Nazri explained that the discrepancy arose because one of his officers sent the written answer to Parliament without checking it with him. This, he added, went against his standard practice of clearing all answers to be issued out of his office.
Wait, so if I am reading this right, did Nazri let someone else SIGN a written answer in his name?

Today has been a series of blahs.
First off, I completely blew my mock lesson. Nerves got the best of me and I simply crumbled under pressure. Although a better term would be to ramble under pressure. On a good note, it seems that I come across as a pretty ok teacher considering that I didn’t have any prior experience teaching, but the problem was in my qualifications. Apparently my GlobalTesol Adv Dip cert may be recognised by the Ministry of Higher Education, it’s not recognised by the Malaysian Quality Assurance board, so that means I can’t teach with it.
ARGH. Aggravation. If I had known this from last week I would have cancelled my trip and focused instead on getting some answers from the GlobalTesol people, who have been assuring me that since they are recognised by the Ministry of Higher Education, I should be able to teach in Malaysia (aka being recognised by MOHE = Being recognised by MQA).
Blergh.
Then I come home to find out that my p1w1max modem is deader than a doornail. Now the modem was completely disconnected from my PC the whole time I was out, so this indicates a problem with P1′s base station… AGAIN.
And don’t you just love it when the troubles begin AFTER their hotline has shut down for the night? Fantastic.
Bah. Shower. Then I go torture Asad and Chro. Possibly Fredegund and Amar too!
Edit: On a good note, one of my white hairs came out in the bath! YAY!

I was talking to a friend, comparing notes on love, and we came to this conclusion:
Love yourself. It is not selfish to love yourself above others.
If you cannot love yourself, you cannot love others.
I know people who when they love, they give it all. But they should keep some love for themselves.
Love is precious, and loving yourself is just as important as loving the world. Be the change, Gandhi says, in the world that you want to change. And if you wish to love, then you must first love yourself.

This is not a joke. I hope someone will tell me that it is, but apparently it’s not.
Someone in Cornell University believes it is PERFECTLY REASONABLE AND A-OK TO REMOVE PARTS OF A GIRL’S CLITORIS. The procedure is done on 7 year olds. I… I don’t even know how to talk about this. It’s… it’s…
