HELP WANTED!

Hey everyone,

Us from AWAM (All Women’s Action Society)’s Writers for Women’s Rights Program 3 are coming up with a short performance for International Women’s Day in The Curve at 11th of March.

The idea is to have different couples – mother-in-law/daughter-in-law, father/daughter, boyfriend/girlfriend, etc – break out into fights at random with the fights being about how the women don’t fulfill stereotypical roles in society (doesn’t conceive children, wants to study something hard, is not the demure shy type, etc). The message basically is that women have the power to choose for themselves what they want tto do, and others have the choice to break out of the cycle.

This performance will take place at The Curve at around afternoon-evening 11th March 2006. We need 3 or 4 guys and 4 or 5 girls. You’ll need to be comfortable with interacting with strangers and be at least OK in acting & improvising.

We’ll have a meeting on Wednesday (8th March) at 6:30 at the AWAM office (near Taman Paramount LRT) and a possible Friday rehearsal at AWAM too.

If you’re interested, please contact Effa at arcadia AT gmail.com and if you know someone who may be interested, please pass the word!

Thank you!

B*B, Tiara
