She turned to look at him, her jaw dropping. After all this time, he still had to ask her that? As she closed her mouth and reopened it to answer him, he rushed forward and hugged her tightly, holding her as though he wouldn’t let go. She left her arms at the side, but remembering her mistake and hesitation, her hands went around him as well. They held each other tight, not moving.
When they finally pulled apart, he lifted her chin gently and kissed her on the lips, just a light brush. She stepped back, completely surprised, the spell broken.
