While talking to Keiichi about comics and propanganda, he said something I always knew but never quite sunk in till then:
All printed materials are propaganda.
In fact, if you think about it, anything that is written or expressed in either drawings, writing, or any other medium (I’m thinking photography, sculpture, etc) IS propaganda, because you are expressing an idea and a thought to others who might view it.
If the Malaysian government ever realised the value of such subtle materials, we will have cause for worry.
Oh, and a random quotable thought from me that I don’t think is original, “Comics are as much a product of our social reality as they are a social reflection.”
