[101]The Guardian of Sarikei

Note: This has nothing to do with the district in Sarawak. The name popped into my head while I was heading out to bath and she didn’t want to leave.

Her mournful cry resounded through the jungle. Raising her head to the sky, she looked at the moon, eyes filled with tears. But for the love of a Queen she had been banished here.

Howling the last time, she turned her attention towards the forest. Something was moving through her forest, and they were thus trespassing on her Queen’s land. Bounding off the rocks, she began to hunt, running on silent, padded feet through the forest.

As long as the Queen’s line held, so this form would she. Better this form she be than the Queen dead. Long live the Queen.
