[Project 365] Day 31

Genting Highlands on the 4th Day of CNY

Standstill traffic for 15 minutes I think.

2009’s CNY was very eventful this year. From the week before till today, it’s been more or less non-stop activities. The week before CNY, office was rushing for work as we would be close the whole week. Yes, I got the full five days off and will only be heading to work next week. 8D

Then CNY eve, I spent much of my time sleeping and playing with Mizi. I think I should really find more time to just sit down without Internet, cause bloody hell it’s so distracting to write when I have a connection. 😛

Dinner was great, family greater, and I just had idea after idea running in my head during CNY eve. It was fun, and I really enjoyed this year’s gathering.

CNY Day 1 was simply angpao giving. I’ll admit that I’m kinda pleased that the Uncle who was sore at his daughter missing out on the “jackpot” last year was thwarted this year. One of my uncles is fond of loading the angpao packets. He fills one packet (two when he’s being EXTRA generous) with DOUBLE the amount of the rest. So if that year is RM50, the jackpot will be RM100.

Which was what it was this year. As everyone was lining up to get the angpao, the Sore Uncle announced quite loudly that those who won last year (my bro and me got the doubles) should be banned from it this year. However, he was thwarted by the Uncle giving the angpaos who said he’d already mixed them up, so he doesn’t know which is which. This annoyed my brother and me, because honestly, we didn’t care. If we got it, we got it, if we didn’t, it’s the fun of it.

In the end, my younger cousin got it, and I’m human enough to admit that I was gleeful when his daughter did not win.

CNY Day 1 visiting was especially fun, because I got to meet my favourite 2nd cousin and his family. They’re really nice people.

Day 2 was spent sleeping in at home and trying to deposit my angpao money into the bank. Succeeded, somewhat.

Day 3 was spent running around much of the morning and then heading back down to mom’s side again as they had a dinner. Quality of the restaurant went down, kids were sillier, and Mom monopolised the karaoke. At least I know from whom I got my need for attention from. 😀 I love you Mom!

Day 4 was visiting day and my sister fainted. :S Body resets are terrible things to happen in public. *HUGS SAID SISTER* Inkheart was good. In a summary, it’s a movie that people who love books, love reading and love writing should watch. Those not fans of said items, don’t watch the movie, or just take it as a popcorn show (to quote Masako).

Favourite line of the movie: Silvertongues, what a wonderful concept! Wish I’d thought of it.

He took the words right out of my mouth. XD

Shogun was good. Good food is always good, though absentminded waiters, not so. I especially enjoyed the salmon, but the soba was quite sad. I was surrounded by fujoshis yesterday and I liked it. Though I don’t think I’ll turn into one anytime soon.

Self note: Be wary when you say you’re visiting friends for a short while. They can turn into really entertaining sessions you don’t want to leave. 😛

Day 5: Genting.

Good food, quiet time, now to actually write that damn story. 😀

Nites!
