[Politics] Got heart problems? SMOKE!

If we needed any proof that the frogs became independents with “benefits”. Pic and article under the cut.

IPOH: Looking relaxed while puffing on a cigarette, former Perak state executive councillor Mohd Osman Mohd Jailu did not seem unduly worried about his heart problems. “I am still on medical leave as I am not feeling well.

“I have been asked to rest until the end of this month by my doctors,” the 58-year-old state assemblyman for Changkat Jering told reporters outside the Sessions Court here yesterday.

He said he would go back to his house in Changkat Jering to rest and recuperate, adding that he still felt some weakness in his heart.

Osman, accompanied by his family and close friend Jamaluddin Mohd Radzi, the Behrang state assemblyman and former state exco member, was at court to apply to cancel the warrant of arrest issued against him for failing to attend his corruption trial on Feb 10.

When proceedings began, counsel Abdul Roni Abdul Rahman said Osman was unable to attend the trial on Feb 10 as he had been admitted to the Selayang Hospital’s cardiac care unit with a heart complaint for four days until Feb 12.

“In fact, my client is due for his next medical appointment on Feb 27 at the same hospital,” he told the court.

The proceeding took less than five minutes and Sessions Court judge Azhaniz Teh Azman Teh revoked the warrant of arrest which had been issued by magistrate Sharmila Abdul Samad on Feb 10.

Malaysian Anti-Corruption Agency’s prosecuting officer Hamzah Aris did not object to the application.

Both Osman and Jamaluddin were charged last August with corruption along with four others, politician Usaili Alias, 57, Perak State Development Corporation technician Ruslan Sahat, 47, Perak Tengah district councillor Zul Hassan, 46, and businessman Fairul Azrim Ismail, 31.

Hearing of the corruption case has been fixed for June 15 and 16.
