[Politics] Headaches

Edit: WOOTS! Datuk Ambiga Sreenevasan, the Malaysian Bar Council president, is one of the seven recipients of the US’ Award for International Women of Courage. GO DATUK AMBIGA!

Earlier I had a conversation with [SixthSeal] about Lent. The office knows I’ve given up coffee for Lent, simply because I don’t come into the office anymore with a can in my hand. He mentioned that as a person gets off coffee, they would usually get migraines, because caffeine stimulates veins in the brain.

I didn’t get such migraines. However, items like the following often give me migraines. Especially when they come from Bung Moktar or Ibrahim Ali. Among other idiots. *Massages temple*

Do reporters on duty need bodyguards?

SHOULD reporters be accompanied by security personnel when covering press conferences? One backbencher seems to think so. Datuk Bung Mokhtar Radin (BN-Kinabatangan) suggested this during his supplementary question to Deputy Home Minister Datuk Chor Chee Heung when he asked why media personnel were physically attacked while on duty.

Bung Mokhtar said: “These reporters are just doing their jobs and they are getting the news for us, the rakyat.

“There are times that they will go against police orders to get news for us.”

Chor said: “It depends on news agencies whether they want to hire bodyguards to protect their journalists. But, by and large, the security in the country is safe and journalists need not take such measures.

“They can still do their jobs here safely.”

Chor added that journalists should never go against police orders and always listen to their advice.

Earlier, he said 10 cases were reported by reporters and cameramen of being attacked in 2007 and last year

  1. As of last Wednesday I’m never drinking creamer added coffee again. I’ve tolerated it for long enough.

Geminianeyes: Ah. Why the change though?
